The 34th Kalachakra Pooja will be held between 3rd and 14th of January 2017 in bodhgaya.
His holiness Dalai Lama initiated the Pooja by enchanting mantra and land worship which lasted for an hour and 45 minutes. In an hour of discourse after the pooja, dalai lama said that prayers alone could not change the world. It would require love and compassion. We should always be ready to help others. Whatever evils in possession , We must abandon before entering into the kalachakra. Having said this, He welcomed thousands of devotees came to participate in the kalachakra from different countries across the world. He said that bodhgaya is one of the holiest pilgrims for buddhist countries.
After delivering his discourse, He worshiped again with few of his disciples which lasted for 3 hours. He furher added how kalachakra worship was initiated in 1970 after which he dreamed that he would be delivering sermons in many forthcoming kalachakra.
This year more than 1 lakhs devotees from different countries have arrived bodhgaya for participating in the pooja. The local administration has tighten the security in and around kalachakra ground in bodhgaya.
His holiness while delivering his discourse also advised the devotees to tour different places related to buddhism in rajgir and nalanda. He said that the climatic condition of bihar is favorable for austerity.
The Kalachakra is dedicated for global peace and harmony
The kalachakra is a significant ritual in vajrayana buddhism. The simple meaning of kalachakra is the ever rotating wheel of time. this worship is dedicated to world peace, truth, forgiveness, kindness and non violence.
Bodhgaya is located at a distance of 100 kms from patna. It is regarded as one of the holiest pilgrimage for followers of buddhism and most visiting place in bihar. Here, Lord buddha underwent enlightenment under a bodhi tree.
