Because of the beautiful waterfront areas of Alleppey, people choice award for the best waterfront destination of India went to Kerala. Kerala tourism received the maximum number of votes in this regard by HolidayIQ Better Holiday Awards.

Venu V, Principal Secretary, Kerala Tourism received this honor by the Union Minister Jitendra Singh in an event held in New Delhi on 11th May.

“Kerala Tourism has been constantly trying its innovative ideas to land on the surface for the growth of tourism in the state, and the result of this is that more than 150 million domestic travelers today considered us worthy of this award. This kind of identity inspires us to work harder to take up new challenges,” said Dr. Venu V.

Talking at the event, Kadakampalli Surendran, Minister for Tourism shown his curiosity to realized that Alleppey, the best backwaters destination of Kerala, keeps on being the most loved among the travelers travel agencies and tour operators.

As a tourist destination, our state is versatile in nature and getting an award for this specific feature is the best example of that versatility and well fits too in this context. He further added that I am feeling so happy to review the fact and figures related to tourism in the state that it is on top of the list for travelers from all over the globe.

Alleppey is known for its scenic beauty of backwaters across the world and therefore, this destination attracts millions of foreign and domestic travelers every year for holidays in a calm and splendid ambiance.

This award from HolidayIQ itself a recognition of excellent holiday experience given by huge numbers of Indian travelers belongs to more than 100 cities of India.
