Kerala voted as Favourite Leisure Destination in India

Kerala got India’s top tourist leisure destination award at the Conde Nast Traveller reader’s awards 2016. Kerala was voted the ‘Favourite Indian Leisure Destination’ current year by readers who reacted to an overview carried out by the global travel publication.

The function held in New Delhi at Lodhi hotel on 1st of December facilitated by Bollywood beauty Aditi Rao Hydari with Chief Guest Vinod Zutshi, Secretary Tourism, Government of India among other imperative industry pioneers from travel, tourism, and various government institutions. Deputy Director of Kerala Tourism, Mr. K. Radhakrishnan acknowledged the travel award at the same venue for Kerala as top leisure destination (Readers Choice).

The yearly awards, in their 6th year, respect the best in tourism, hospitality & travel with title holder in different groups selected by readers of the periodical all the way through a voting procedure traversing crosswise over two months.

Kadakampally Surendran, Tourism Minister, Government of Kerala said that “We are regarded to be perceived as a place to calm down and refurbish by explorers to Kerala which is known for its natural splendour and the state’s past associations with different area of the globe have added to its fame as a top destination for relaxation”. Dr. Venu V., Principal Secretary for Tourism, Kerala said the honor reaffirmed the state’s popularity for being a traveler’s heaven.

“A stay on the houseboat at various tranquil backwaters, unwinding on the flawless shorelines, encountering the joy of rural life, viewing customary expressions exhibitions or savoring its tasty food, Kerala offers a flawless recreation experience to voyagers from close and far. The alternatives for recreational travel in Kerala are boundless,” he added.

Kerala, which was the runner-up in a similar class in last year, imparted the top respect to Goa this year. In spite of the State’s fundamental attractions remain the pristine shorelines, the web of tangled backwaters bungling the land and the moves and culture, the State is continually advancing by promoting new attractions that offer the best in recreation. The honor replicates the variety of recreation based offerings today and the value of their branding in Kerala, said Mr. Jose, Director, (Kerala Tourism).
